TOPBOX Luxury Essentials *Limited Edition*

Hey guys!

So if you've been following me for awhile, either on YouTube or Instagram - you know i'm a HUGE fan of TOPBOX.

What is TOPBOX you say? They are a Canadian monthly beauty subscription service. This is the only beauty subscription that I have stayed subscribed to. I've been subbed for literally as long as I can remember (since 2013 I think?!) with no end in sight, and here's why. Every month you get sent deluxe to full sized beauty products - and they're actually worth using, at a great price - $12 CDN a month! Can't beat that.

What else is awesome about TOPBOX? They release stellar limited edition boxes, which are perfect for spoiling yourself or gifting. The prices are always reasonable - what you get is a bargain.

This one is their limited edition "Luxury Essentials" for $28 CDN - which is a steal of a price!

It contains:
  • Smashbox | Photo Finish Foundation Primer (7.1mL deluxe sample) ($10.40 Value - $44 for 30ml)
  • Bobbi Brown | Crushed Lip Colour - Ruby (2.25g deluxe sample) ($17.81 Value - $38 for 4.8g)
  • Darphin | Exquisâge Beauty Revealing Cream (4mL deluxe sample) ($11.60 Value - $145 for 50 ml)
  • Estée Lauder | Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex ll (7mL deluxe sample)($16.80 Value - $120 for 50 ml)
  • Clinique | TAKE THE DAY OFF MAKEUP REMOVER (50mL deluxe sample) ($17 Value)
  • GlamGlow | SUPERMUD (15g deluxe sample) ($24 Value)

Total Value of box = $97.61 CDN !!!!

The products in here are drool-worthy and while some are new products (Bobbi Brown crushed lip color - which i've been loving), most are tried and true cult favourites. These aren't just thoughtless products thrown in a box... no... they are worth the try - if they aren't some of your favourites already!!

Will you guys be picking this box up? It is available for purchase now, and will ship out Nov 15th 2017. You can buy it here: https://ca.topboxcollective.com/products/limited-edition-elc-box-2017

Kat Von D Saint + Sinner Eyeshadow Palette Review + Swatches + Tutorial

Hey all!

Sorry my blog has been quite neglected these days, I am still quite active on my YouTube channel and Instagram - but sometimes this falls to the wayside - whoops!

This time of year I get really excited - because of all the holiday makeup launches! Every year I buy Kat Von D's holiday eyeshadow palette ( For the past 3 years!), it's almost like a holiday ritual - haha! This year she released the "Saint + Sinner" eyeshadow palette. The name comes as no surprise, it follows the theme of her Saint + Sinner releases in the previous months (perfumes, liquid lipstick, etc.). This eyeshadow palette retails for $83 CDN on Sephora Canada. I haven't heard a whole lot of talk about this palette - so here comes my thoughts!

FIRSTLY, lets just talk about the packaging. KVD - girl - I see YOU. Such a piece of art. She was inspired by gothic cathedrals, specifically their stained glass windows for this one. If you know that, that really helps you understand this palette. The palette is shaped like a stained glass window, and the design on it is embossed. It opens like the shutters of a window, and inside you see one side "Saint" and the other side "Sinner".

The shadows are colourful, also not surprising - since every year her holiday palettes are always colourful - which I love! I am such a colourful eyeshadow junkie. These shadows come in a variety of finishes - 4 - Mattes, Metallics, Pearlescents and glimmer shades (a new formula to Kat).

The cons: I wish there were more mattes in this palette. I love mattes for the crease! Also, SOME of the shadows are a bit tricky to work with (..."worship"), so it does take some trial and error.

All in all I think this is a great collectors palette. I know I will get a lot of use out of it - I love colourful eyeshadow looks! If you want to see my full review - check out the video below from my YouTube channel - and make sure you're subscribed if you aren't already :)

Thanks for hanging guys!

NEW Bite Beauty "The Lip Pencil" Review + Swatches - Influenster VoxBox

Hey guys!

So i've been signed up to Influenster for a few months now and have had no luck in getting a VoxBox.. until recently - when I got an Orville Reddenbaker Popcorn VoxBox - which my husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed eating.. but let's be honest - the MAKEUP VoxBoxes are really where it's at. I was incredibly lucky to have received a Bite Beauty "The Lip Pencil" VoxBox. BAM!! 2 VoxBoxes back to back! Hopefully we're on a roll here people!

In the box:
Bite Beauty The Lip Pencil in #044 & #020
Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipsticks in Whiskey & Honeycomb
Sephora Collection Eco Biodegradable Sharpener

Man. I can't say enough good things about the lip pencils. They are so creamy - unlike any pencil i've ever tried - SO unique. I could fill in my whole lips with the pencil, and actually RUB MY LIPS TOGETHER to spread them. Unheard of right? They almost feel like a lipstick. Super impressed.

They launched on Sephora February 2nd, 2017. I'm definitely going to be picking up a few more colors.

The Amuse Bouche Lipsticks are also stellar. I can't believe i've never tried them before!? Just when I thought I didn't need anymore lipsticks this formula makes me fall in love. They are so moisturizing and smell delicious... so delicious you could EAT them. OH WAIT - YOU ACTUALLY CAN!

Yup. You read that right. All of Bite Beauty's cosmetics are made with food grade ingredients, so you can totally eat them. I wouldn't advise it though - you'd miss out on the enjoyment of wearing them! Ha ha.

My favorite color combination was The Lip Pencil #020 and Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Honeycomb. My perfect nude lip. This is quickly becoming a staple in my every day makeup routine.

How about you guys? Have you tried the new lip pencils or amuse bouche lipsticks? What are your thoughts?

I've linked my YouTube video below so you can see the products in live action, and I also talk about Influenster and give a bit of insight into how you guys can get your own FREE VoxBox. Check it out!

It would mean the world to me if you also subscribed to my YouTube channel!

Kat Von D MetalMatte Eyeshadow Palette & Swatches

OK! So ... who went crazy during the Sephora VIB 20% off sale?! (*slowly raises hand*)

I will be posting a haul video soon on my channel, but while my child is napping I thought I would take this opportunity to show you how b-e-a-Utiful this new KVD MetalMatte eyeshadow palette is...

First off - How stunning is this packaging though!? I love how Kat personally creates all of the packaging for her brand. If you haven't picked up on it - the name is an ambigram. It reads "Metal" one way, and if you flip it upside down it reads "Matte" - pretty cool eh? Last year I bought the Mi Vida Loca Remix Eyeshadow palette (packaging also beautiful) and that did not disappoint. I just LOVE bright colors, and I love to rock a bolder eye look. This year in my opinion this palette is much more wearable for the average person. There are actually quite a few neutrals in there!

What realllly attracted me to this palette was that the metallic shadows are supposed to be in KVD's Metal Crush Eyeshadow formula (R.I.P. Thunderstruck) - which are insanely pigmented and creamy. So of course.. I had to have it - am I right!?

I just can't wait any longer to dig my hands in it - so here are some swatches! Just to give you an idea of how fair I am, I am about an NW15 in MAC standards.

Here, i've swatched the 9 metal shadows. My first impressions? The metal shadows are extremely pigmented and creamy, just like the metal crush shadows I know and love. They swatch effortlessly. From left to right: Nebula (metallic navy), Watt (metallic teal), Ignite (metallic seafoam), Tinsel (metallic pewter), Glitz (metallic rose gold), Twinkle (metallic lilac), Volt (metallic violet), Synergy (metallic bronze) &         Flash (metallic gold).

Now onto the glorious mattes!! Overall I am quite impressed, there are a couple that did not swatch as well as i'd hoped (mainly ribbon), but I'm sure with some primer they would be quite workable. From left to right: Linen (matte white), Jet (matte black), Velour (matte royal blue), Stone (matte cement gray), Moss (matte forest green), Ribbon (matte deep purple), Silk (matte terra cotta), Fringe (matte peach), Feather (matte dandelion yellow), Oak (matte chocolate brown), Suede (matte fawn), Bone (matte cream) & Velvet (matte deep plum).

I can't wait to have some fun with this palette and create some different looks. It also comes with a tutorial insert with 3 different looks, I had a lot of fun with that last year. I'm so happy I got my hands on this. As far as I know it's sold out on Sephora online, but you may still be able to get your hands on it in some stores.

Did you guys get your hands on this beauty?

My first post! Welcome to my blog!

Hey everyone,

Welcome to my new blog! Yay! I've been wanting to start one of these for awhile now. If you're just meeting me for the first time - Hiya!

For those of you who don't know me, i'll tell you a bit about myself!

I'm a wife, and have been married over 2 years now to the most wonderful and supportive husband. Together we own a dog, a Boston Terrier named Nova (Who is almost 6 - can't believe it). I am a Registered Nurse. I've had a YouTube channel for just a short year, focusing on beauty related videos. AND - In this past year something pretty major happened; I became a MOM for the first time to a beautiful boy named Casey. Born July 28th, 2016.

SO - more recently, i've started to branch out a bit and put out some mommy related videos. I'm still learning - but having a heck of a lot of fun doing it, and luckily i've been able to drag some of you gals/guys along with me for the ride!

I've started this blog with the intention of making it a bit more personal, and hopefully i'll be able to blog a bit more than post videos. I'm going to share here beauty stuff, baby stuff, home stuff... heck - just life stuff!

I have no idea what i'm doing really, i'm learning as I go. Hopefully you'll stick with me and see me grow! I can't wait to share it all with you.

Cheers !
